TWO MORE WAYS TO USE IT

Choosing a teacher or returning to singing?

When comparing teachers

Bring the same phrase and ask, “What do you hear working? What would you test first? What should I listen for between sessions?” You can compare the clarity and usefulness of the answers.

When a familiar song feels different

Mark where the difference begins. “I lose the last three words at performance tempo” gives the teacher a more useful starting point than “My breath is bad.” You do not need to identify a cause yourself.

If singing hurts or your voice stays hoarse, stop pushing and consult a qualified healthcare professional.
